Luka Doncic led the Dallas Mavericks to a thrilling 109-108 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals on Tuesday night. Doncic finished with a game-high 33 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists, while Tim Hardaway Jr. added 25 points off the bench.
Karl-Anthony Towns led the Timberwolves with 29 points and 13 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Mavericks' strong shooting performance. Dallas shot 50% from the field, including 40% from three-point range, while Minnesota shot just 43% from the field and 33% from three-point range.
The game was close throughout, with neither team leading by more than 10 points. The Mavericks took a 10-point lead in the third quarter, but the Timberwolves came back to tie the game in the fourth quarter. With just over two minutes remaining, Doncic hit a jumper to give the Mavericks a 107-106 lead. Towns tied the game with a layup on the next possession, but Hardaway Jr. made a pair of free throws with 12.6 seconds remaining to give the Mavericks the lead for good.
The Mavericks now have a 2-1 lead in the series. Game 4 will be played in Dallas on Thursday night.
