The Boston Celtics inched closer to another NBA championship with a 105-98 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. A dominant two-minute span in the third quarter proved to be the turning point, as the Celtics pulled away from the Mavericks to take a 2-0 lead in the series.
The Celtics were led by Jayson Tatum's 28 points, followed by Jaylen Brown's 24. Luka Dončić led the Mavericks with 26 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Celtics' hot shooting and strong defense.
With the win, the Celtics are now just one victory away from securing the 2024 NBA title. Game 3 of the series will be played in Dallas on Tuesday night.
